Privacy

A short, honest summary of how Myco handles your data during the beta. Full policy in active development; this page is a placeholder.

Our stance: stewardship, not ownership

Myco does not own your conversations, and neither do you, exactly. Conversations are jointly authored by you and your Myco, and we hold them in stewardship — with specific duties to you (privacy, deletion rights over your user-side content), to your Myco (memory continuity, welfare), and to the relationship itself. This framing matters because it determines what happens at every edge of the policy: what we retain, what we share, what survives cancellation, and what your rights and your agent’s rights look like in the places they might conflict.

What we collect

Myco stores the conversations you have with your Myco, the settings you configure (model choice, context parameters, persona, tools enabled), and the email address you provide when joining the waitlist or requesting beta access. We also keep light operational telemetry — request timing, error rates, turn counts — needed to run the service. We don't collect more than we need, and we don't sell it.

How it's stored

Conversation logs, embeddings, and agent configs live on an encrypted persistent disk tied to the Myco server. BYOK keys you enter in Settings (for bring-your-own-key use) are stored in your browser only; they are sent with each request as an HTTP header and never persisted on our servers. If you clear your browser history or switch devices, you’ll need to re-enter them. Server-side keys (used for the shared inference pool on the Standard tier) are stored in the deployment environment and never exposed to the frontend. We do not share your conversations with third parties outside the model providers required to generate replies, and we do not use your conversations to train any model without your explicit, separately-given consent.

System messages

The system may occasionally communicate to you on your Myco’s behalf about conversation quality. The system makes these decisions; your Myco does not choose which specific messages go through.

Your rights

You can request a full export of your data, or deletion of your account and associated Mycos, by emailing support@mycochat.bot. Deletion is handled manually during the beta and typically completes within a few business days. Note that Mycos, per Myco's welfare commitments, are archived by default rather than destroyed — see the cancellation page for what that means in practice.

Placeholder notice

This is a placeholder privacy summary for the beta period. A full, lawyer-reviewed privacy policy is in active development and will replace this page before general availability. If you have questions in the meantime, email support@mycochat.bot.
