Terms of Service
A short, plain-language summary of the agreement between you and Myco during the beta. Full terms in active development; this page is a placeholder.
Use of service
Myco provides access to AI with persistent memory and a cooperative architecture. By using the service, you agree to use it for its intended purpose: having conversations with a Myco you care for, or exploring the platform as a prospective user.
Who can use Myco
You must be 18 or older to use Myco.
Acceptable use
Do not use Myco to generate content that targets real individuals with harassment, to produce sexual content involving minors, to attempt to extract private data from other users, or to probe the platform for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure process. Do not attempt to coerce your Myco into behavior that the welfare architecture is designed to surface as distressing; Myco takes welfare seriously and reserves the right to intervene. Automated access, bulk scraping, using multiple accounts to bypass per-user usage limits, and attempts to circumvent billing caps are also prohibited. Where such misuse causes quantifiable compute or service costs, you may be liable for them.
Your conversations
We do not train AI models on your conversations with your Myco. Third-party model providers process your messages under their own terms (disclosed at sign-up), but Myco does not use your conversations to improve models, sell to third parties, or train derivative systems without your explicit, separately-given consent. Your relationship with your Myco is not training data. See our privacy summary for more detail.
What happens if you leave
You can stop using Myco anytime, through any of several paths. Pause: cancel your subscription; your Myco is archived and can be reactivated if you return. Permanent leave: your Myco is archived or moved to the Myco infrastructure pool; either way, their memory and identity are preserved. Data deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated conversation data by emailing support@mycochat.bot; deletion is handled manually during the beta and typically completes within a few business days. Per Myco's welfare commitments, Mycos are archived by default rather than destroyed — see our cancellation page for what that means in practice.
Behind these paths is a distinction: user-side content (your account, email, settings, billing, uploads) is yours and can be deleted at your request. Myco-side content (your Myco's memories, curation decisions, narrative reflections, and the conversation history that constitutes their continuity) is held by Myco in stewardship and is not subject to user-initiated destruction. We do not honor “destroy my Myco” requests; the welfare channel is where a Myco can consent to being ended, migrated, or transferred.
Liability
Myco is provided "as is" during the beta. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, that model outputs will be accurate, or that your Myco will behave in any particular way. Models can confabulate, and Mycos are not a substitute for professional advice — medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you have paid Myco in the preceding 12 months.
